Staff Spotlight: Caitlin Twilleager 

Role:

I’m the Executive Director at Laurelhurst House ALF/SNC and I am approximately five seconds away from my 5-year anniversary with this community (April 16th, mark your calendar!). I’ve been in long-term care since 2011, working my way up from caregiver to med tech to activities director to marketing director to ED, which is either an amazing career arc or a cautionary tale depending on who you ask. Ten of my nearly 15 years were spent in memory care, my jokes always being funny went to my head a little bit; these last 5-years in AL have helped a lot in more ways than one. 

What She Loves:

Getting to build up the people around me. So many folks have potential they haven’t fully clocked yet, and I genuinely love being the person who gets to point at them and say “see that? that’s you, you did that.” It is my favorite thing. Someone did that for me when I was just starting out as a caregiver and I genuinely would not be where I am today without them, so it feels important to pay it forward. 

Outside of Work:

I am a classically trained cellist, which I deploy exactly zero percent of the time at work, but feel is important for you to know about me as an interesting tidbit. Otherwise, I'm your standard garden variety millennial: woodworking, gardening, video games. There's nothing I can't do DIY; my husband and I share a cat and a bearded dragon and, also, I have a cello. Life's good.
