A Rare Find in Oregon Memory Care

  • Emerson House is one of the few multi-story memory care endorsements in the state. Oregon's memory care licensing rules, in place since 2010, require all newly endorsed communities to be located on the ground floor. Emerson House predates that requirement, making multi-story memory care communities like Emerson House increasingly rare and effectively irreplaceable as the existing licensed communities age.

  • For older adults who spent their lives in apartments and multi-story homes, the transition into memory care doesn't have to mean trading that familiar sense of home for a sprawling single-level layout that feels nothing like the life they lived. Emerson House offers that continuity in a way most communities simply cannot.

  • For families and care teams managing residents with significant elopement risk, the building's design also provides meaningful, structural safety advantages that go beyond what locks and monitoring systems alone can achieve.

  • If building familiarity and elopement safety are priorities in your placement decision, Emerson House is worth a serious conversation.

“I love Emerson House! Every staff member I have interacted with over the last two years has been wonderful. I know my Dad is not only being cared for, but also loved. I would recommend Emerson House to anyone who has a loved one with dementia.”

Tenets of Care

The Philosophy of Purpose

Anew Living Core Values

As humans, we thrive on connection, meaning, and purpose. This need doesn’t fade with age or cognitive decline; in fact, it becomes even more critical. Research shows that individuals living with memory challenges or care needs experience feelings of loss, frustration, and isolation. A purpose-driven approach to care can help mitigate these feelings, improving overall well-being and quality of life.

The Power of Connections

Anew Living’s Commitment

In the heart of our senior living communities at Anew Living, personal connections are the cornerstone of our approach to care. We believe that meaningful relationships not only enhance the quality of life for our residents but also nurtures a supportive community where everyone feels valued and understood.

The Discovery Process

The Anew Living Lifestyle Profile

At Anew Living, we believe that a fulfilling life is one rich with purpose, connection, and engagement. Our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents goes beyond traditional care; it involves a proactive approach to understanding their unique needs and aspirations.
